Burning And Itching, Scabby And Swollen Vagina After Taking Bactrim With Diflucan For Bladder Infection. Allergic Reaction?
Yes. I got treated for a bladder infection and was prescribed cipro, then the culture came back from the lab and it was found that the bacteria was very resistant to cipro. So the doc switched me to bactrim. About 20 after taking the first dose, my vagina started burning and itching. So the next day I called my doc and they gave me diflucan. I took it hoping for some relief , and I still took the bactrim but it has gotten worse, now my vagina is scabby and swollen only on the right side of the labia minors. I am std tested and clean. I don't know what to do. I've been also putting lidocaine 2% on it and taking ibuprofen. Could I have an allergic reaction to the bactrim?

Bactrim contains a combination of sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim. Development of burning ,itching and swollen of labia after 20 mins of taking Bactrim is most likely due to Allergic reactions. Of course yeast(fungal) infections of Vigina may develope after taking Bactrim for some days. Thats why you are not getting relief even after using diflucan(fluconazole), lidocaine 2% , ibuprofen.
So you should stop Bactrim and take some antiallergic medications like Cetrizine and Change the antibiotics.
