Burning In Throat, Nausea While Exercising. Signs Of Angina. Nuclear Stress Test Shows Depression. Check Up Required?

Hello, I am 48 white female 65.5" 165# that has been exercising for the past 8 weeks at the gym doing aerobic and wt. exercises trying to get into better shape and lose some wt. I recently noticed burning in my throat with exercise and occasionally feel nauseated. I know these can be signs of angina so I've seen a cardiologist and had a nuclear stress test and echo. The nuclear pictures looked good, but with stress, the EKG REVEALED ST depression in inferior leads II, III and AVF about 2mm. There was ST depression in the lateral precordial leads V5, V6, less than 1 mm. My cardiologist is on vacation. I picked up a copy of the report and did like what I just shared with you. One of his partners said don't get excited for the pictures looked good, and if I had any problems to go to the ER. I don't want to go to the ER, but feel I probably should have a cath. done? Should I call and follow up with my PCP? Thanks Desiree

Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

You have given nice description of your problem and investigation already done.
If you feel burning in throat while exercising please stop exercising till you are cleared by cardiologist and may be even coronary angiography.

The problem you are having is most likely angina and needs further investigation with CT Angiography or conventional angiography to exactly know extent of coronary lesions.

In the meantime visit your Physician and medical treatment can be started as precaution.

If angiography id performed and any significant lesion is detected it can be treated with angioplasty and stent placement.

Once this is treated you can continue with weight reduction and diet modification and Lipid management with statin along with diet changes.
Avoid smoking and drinking if you do.

Hope this information helps you to take right decision and helpful.
I wish you good health.

Take care
Good Luck.
