Burning Pain In Lower Pelvis, Abdomen Sore. Suspected Diverticulitis. No Relief With Cipro, Flgyl. Possible Reason?

A week ago to date, a sharp, radiating and somewhat burning pain set in on my lower left pelvis. The pain increased and 2 days later my entire abdomin was sore to the touch. On Monday the pain was severe and limited to the lower left side and I had a vaginal ultra-sound and surface ultra-sound suspecting it may be a left ovarian cysyt. The GYn examine was normal. Upon a pelvic exam the GYN said my lower bowel was inflammed and that she suspected diverticulitis. I had no fever, and my CBC count was normal: no infection. I started a course of cipro and Flgyl: 4 pills a day for a total of 2000mg/day. I stayed off work and kept myself horizontal and 96 hours into the anti-biotic theerapy I have no relief from the pain. I am scheduled for a CAT scan on Tuesday but am wondering what this could be. I have no vomitting, constipation or diareah (sp?). I am a 54 woman and menstrual flows are not a factor. Any guesses?

Hi, many thanks for the query!
This can be stone related pain..
You need to do- Repeat USG KUB empty stomach, X-ray KUB,
Urine (R/M), RFT.
Till then take antispasmodics, antacids, pain killers,
diuretics with your doctor's opinion.
Drink plenty of water so that at least 2 litres of urine is voided in 24 hrs.
Wish you a good health.
Take care.
Regards.
