Burning Sensation In Rectum, Had Large Intestine Removed. Treatment?
Hi, I had my whole large intestine removed & had an ileostomy bag for a couple of months. Its been a month now that the Dr. performed the closure on me. Now I cant stand the burning sensation in my rectal. Will this ever go away? What is the best way to treat this burning sensation? I m using desitin which helps but its been a month & still burns. Any other prescribed medication?
Experience a sore anus after the reversal operation is seen. This should improve as the anus becomes used to having stools pass through it again, although common barrier creams can help.
The reversal operation is usually a smaller procedure than the initial ileostomy procedure, but it still takes several weeks to fully recover.
Lignocaine gelly or anobliss cream may help. If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
