COPD, A Lot Of Phlegm Struck In Throat Area, Viral Infection, Antibiotic

Hi why do I keep losing my voice all the time,I have copd and have antibiotics in the house for emergencies,and although my lungs sound clear I am getting alot of phlemb up,it all seems as it gets stuck in the throat area,nurse says it could be viral infection,but how come when i am on the antibiotics it clears it up and i get my voice back ,well for a couple of week anyway.cheers pearl

COPD may be predispose to bronchiiectasis so there is chance of phlegm production.and you should be evaluated for sinusitis. sinusitis will be associated with hoarseness which can be better with antibiotics.so evaluate for both .treat it as prescribed by doctor.avoid self antibiotic use
