Calf Muscle Spasms, Cannot Bear Weight In Leg, Painful
Several months ago I twisted and fell on my knee ... I went to follow up after 6 weeks of knee brace and crutches...I still had lots of pain and hard to bend. My knee wasn t getting better...it was recommended I get MRI ..I was unable cause I had no insurance or money. Over the next few months the pain was getting better now walking on it. Now 6 months later..... Last night my muscle in my calf behind my knee to my ankle started twitch and having spasms with pain...at work today same twitch and pain thru out the day but not consist ant...a little relief in between. I decited to walk it off at break..seemed OK..once I stood up a few minutes getting back from break I could not bear any weight on my right leg ( same on I twisted earlier) sever pain crunching and clicking from my knee muscle still twitch i feel as if my knee is derotating and unstable and pain to my lower back like I need to pop it. I am female at 46 yrs..
Thanks for the query. Given your prior knee injury, with recurrence and the recommendation of getting an MRI, with now sudden buckling of the same leg with pain, makes us think about a more severe structural injury in that knee, specifically rupture of one of the meniscus or the collateral ligaments of the knee. You should be seen promptly and perhaps again, it will be suggested that an MRI be obtained. An orthopedist or a Sports Medicine specialist would be the go-to doctors to examine you.
Hope that helps, wish you the best,
