Callus On The Foot Got Cut. Have Discoloration. What To Do?

Hi, I didn t really know that you weren t supposed to cut a callous of of your foot , and I did. I m worried now because my mom said it looked like it was turning purple. I got scared and said it was ink from a shoe, so I don t want to tell her that it was a lie. Along with the purple discoloration, it has a shiny, smooth surface only where I cut it off. What should i do?

hello and welcome to hcm forum,
thank you for posting your query, i would like to inform you that a callus is nothing but a thickened skin which is formed as a result of our body's normal defense mechanism in order to wear off pressure over certain areas on our feet, and callus should not be cut until your doctor advises you to do so, because there is a risk of developing infection .
Now as you have already cut the callus on your feet, i would suggest you to visit your concerned doctor as he/she might put you on oral antibiotics ,as well prescribe you salicylic acid ointments to apply. do not worry you will be alright, just make sure to keep that area dry.
also,do not wear hard sole shoes, kindly get cushioned insoles for your shoes.
kindly visit your doctor soon ,
i wish you good health,
take care.
