For as long as i can remember, since I was a child I ve had a huge callus on the knuckle of my thumb, the callus covers the entire knuckle. It s been like this for 16 years... As a kid and even to this very day I ve had trouble with skin picking... I ve picked at the callus for years to the point where it is so thick that the creases of the knuckle are just a raised peice of skin with a smoothe, flat surface. I ve been told that I may take surgery for it to be removed. Is there any way I can remove the callus from my thumb without going through surgery?
As a first line management you can apply over the counter available salicylate as it will dissolve the callus gradually. In severe cases surgical excision may be required.
