Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

The treatment which you have described sounds correct to me.

Azithromycin is routinely prescribed for moderate to severe acne and the usual duration is 6-12 weeks. You could follow up with your doctor regularly and once the active lesions come down, she may advice you to continue only the topicals.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
