Can Azithromycin Be Used For UTI Treatment?
I think my 8 yr old spayed female cat has a UTI. She has urinated in several strange places & I found some urine outside the litter box that had a drop of blood in it. I have Azithromycin but I know that is for Upper Resp. Can this also be used for UTI?

Yes azithromycin used mainly in respiratory infections.....
It can also be used in STD and pneumonia like condition...
If UTI caused by gonococci and chlamydia then it can be useful .....
So if urine culture done or if symptoms suggestive infection by these two then azithromycin can given ....
Otherwise floxacin group of drugs or cefixime like cephalosporin drugs used..
