I take betnesol or betnesol forte tab.regularly for treatment of my face allergy. As soon as I STOP taking the drug the problems of face allergy restarts . Is it safe to take the drug regularly. No side effects have been observed till now. I am using it since last two months
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Betnesol contains 'betamethasone', which is a corticosteroid that is used for systemic and topically for inflammatory conditions. Corticosteroids should be taken for a short duration and should be tapered and stopped to minimise the adverse reactions. On taking oral corticosteroids on long term, you may experience side effects like: glaucoma, cataracts, stomach ulcers, high blood sugar and high blood pressure. Hence its use on long term should be avoided. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
