General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Taking Atenolol drug while on Cartia medicine may lead to increased side effects like fatigue, headache, fainting, swelling of the extremities, weight gain, shortness of breath, bloating sensation, constipation, increased or irregular heartbeats.

You may need a dose adjustment or need your blood pressure checked more often to safely use both medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
