Can Clindamycin Cause Perirectal Abscess Recovery?
Hello i have a Perirectal Abscess and it has drained twice on it's own, it wasn't getting better so I went to the er on saturday night They prescribed me clindamycin for 7 days every 6 hrs. Is it possible that the medine is breakin it up? It moved down away from my anus.
My answer is yes it is used for anal or peri rectal abscess. Other drugs used for peri rectal abscess are ampicilline, ampicilline +sulbactum, cefazoline etc.. If the abscess not responding to treatment may require drainage. I think I answered to your question if you have more questions please feel free to ask me.
