Can Clindamysin Cause Diarrhea And General Malaise?

Taking Clindamycin 3X daily after tooth extraction. Side effects include: belly-stomach/abdominal upset, diarrhea, general malaise after taking (probably due to constant loose runny stools after taking. Have been taking since Jan 20. Should I quit taking or tough it out...several days worth left in bottle?

hi,
medicines like clindamycin can cause such symptoms on long term use....but it is a very safe medicine for short term use.
but what I don't understand is why still you are on clindamycin?
you said you had dental extraction on Jan 20 th ,.after extraction an antibiotic regimen for 5-7 days is usually prescribed....but not more than that..
it is high time that you stopped taking clindamycin.
also your stomach upsets should be treated...taking probiotics should help..
Tb vizylac or any such medicines that restore the good bacteria in your stomach should be taken..
but first STOP clindamycin..
hope this answer was helpful.
thank you.
