Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am presently taking atorvastatins, diazapam, lisinopril and sertraline. Last year I requested to be taken off my atorvastatin as I was worried about causing dimentia. Now six months later my cholesterol has risen from a good l50 to a high 239. I am also a diabetic (diet controlled). I exercise daily, do not eat anything to cause my cholesterol to go so high and am wondering if taking CoQ10 would help lower my cholesterol and help to keep my A1C below 7 which is now 6.7. All my siblings have diabetes, have high cholesterol and two have suffered strokes (losing one sister through a stroke). If taking CoQ10 would help what kind should I take and how many mg a day? Thank you for your consideration to this matter.
hello there I am afraid but coq will do none of that. CoQ will help you in the fatigue caused by the statins maximally You will have to take your other medicines as prescribed
Hope that helps
