Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I believe I have a Bartholin cyst, I have Diclofenac sod ec 25 mg used for inflammation from a torn tendon on my foot. I was wondering if it could also help with the cyst, if that s what it is? Of course I tried to diagnose myself using google but I don t want to run straight to the doctor if I can treat it on my own.
Diclofenac sodium medication is anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication. It would certainly help to reduce inflammation associated with Bartholincyst. However, Bartholin cyst needs few more measures to be taken.
1. Take sitz bath twice daily.
2. You may need to take a course of appropriate antibiotics.
3. Abstain from sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely. If the symptoms does not subside, you need to be clinically evaluated by consulting Obstetrician and treated accordingly.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
