What Type Of Abortion Is Appropriate For Me?

Hello
I am four weeks pregnant and have a bartholin cyst which until now is not painful. I am thinking of a medical abortion. My query is, Is it okay to have a medical abortion while having a bartholin cyst or should I opt for a surgical abortion? Please help!!

Hi,

Bartholin's cyst itself is not an indication for termination of pregnancy.

If you want to plan for abortion, the ideal procedure is you have to consult your Gynecologist first, undergo ultrasound to confirm the intrauterine pregnancy and to rule out the ectopic pregnancy.

Then, as now you are having four week pregnancy, you can go for medical abortion with your doctor's advice.

Bartholin's cyst is not an indication of surgical abortion. Surgical abortion needs instrumentation and will have the risk of possible infection.

Better to take treatment for Bartholin's cyst also as there are complications like formation of abscess, recurrences in future etc. if left untreated.
