Can Duphaston And Susten Be Taken Together To Support Pregnancy?

Can duphaston 10mg (1-0-1)be taken along with susten SR 200(0-0-1) for supporting pregnancy when one has very mild spotting (once a day generally when day ends after 10 pm or so)? My wife had her last mestrual period on 29-Apr-2016 and has 7 week pregnancy with lower abdominal pain.We have one history of spontaneous miscarriage last April with 5 weeks pregnancy. Same medicines were suggested by doctor at that time too.Thank you for the help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Both Duphaston and susten contain progesterone which support early pregnancy in cases with a history of habitual or threatened abortion.

Many doctors prescribe both these medicines together to keep a high level of progesterone in your system in order to maintain pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
