Can Duphaston Be Taken In The Third Trimester Of Pregnancy?

Tab. Duphaston has been advised by my gynaecologist 2 tablets twice daily.my 8th month has started just now and i am having pains . Is it ok to take this drug for 14 days . Will it cause any effect in my labour when the timee comes as it changes hormone balance.

Hi I think it is safe to take progesterone like duphaston in 3rd trimester also. It will not affect the Labour. You can take some tocolytics like isoxsuprine or nifedipine for decreasing pain. Only duphaston will not help if you are having preterm labour pains. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
