I get left side spasms during stress, drinking coffee and sometimes in the morning. Has been bad enough to get nurmerouse ekg all come back normal. diagnosed with gerd. when attaches happen feel tingles in head, feel like passing out, feel chest spasms. after having slugish and slight pain effects last a couple days. Work out four-five times a week. eat healthy not overweight. Mom and uncle died in late 30's of heart electrical issues. I am 37 concerned over same thing but no test have shown any issue.
Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Even though GERD could also cause and mimic a chest pain related to heart, one should not take it for granted, and should get his cardiac status assessed properly by a cardiologist to avoid missing any cardiac related problem specially with the history of your uncle's past cardiac problem. Therefore, I would suggest you to continue the treatment of GERD, and at the same time get your baseline examination and investigations done by a cardiologist at the earliest.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
