Can Gabapentin Cause Undiagnosed Dystonia To Worsen?
Hello can gabapentin cause undiagnosed dystonia to become worse? I take sinemet now and it helps my tremor and dystonia. Now at 38 they diagnosed me with mild subcortical dementia. My pain management doctor feels it may be the gabapentin 300 mg 3 times a day that I have been taking for over a year now. (I originally complained about it causing sever confusion bit she told me to keep taking it. And now is only listening since neuropsycholocal testing show mild subcortical dementia? Could it be possible I have pd and not DRD. And the neurotin is making an undiagnosed MCI seem like dementia? And once I am weaned off of the gabapentin if this is the cause will it be perminant? Or will I get better in time?
As per my clinical experience, there are various side effects of the use of Gabapentin in high doses such as: - Dizziness - Headache - Visual disturbances - Ataxia - Fatigue - Fever - Nystagmus - Irritability - Tremor - Visual problems - Others
It is most likely possible for undiagnosed dystonia to worsen from Gabapentin use.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
