Can Gabapentin Or Tylenol Cause Tremors In Legs?

My husband is taking three Gabapentin morning, noon and night. Also, two 500 mg Tylenol morning and evening. He has Rheumatoid Arthritis and Neuropathy of feet and legs. He has begun jerking in his arms, face and legs. Could either of the above medications cause this? He did not jerk before starting these drugs. Thanks.

Hello
Your husband is taking GABAPENTINE thrice in a day . He is also taking tylenol ( paracetamol 500 mg two times in a day ) .
Simultaneously , your husband started these drugs , however these two drugs don't interact with each other .
The main side effects of gabapentine are ;somnolence , dizziness , ataxia, weakness, TREMORS ( jerks , as in your husband case )rhinitis , blurred vision , vertigo ( simulates as jerks ).
So in your husband case jerks are definitely a side effect of gabapentine .
But tolerance develops to these effects within 2 weeks .
Since this drug is advised for Rheumatoid arthritis and Neuropathy, so I strongly advise to take gabapentine and tylenol till your treating doctor advise . Because tolerance will develop within 2 weeks , after that your husband will not feel any jerks , you can continue treatment till complete relief in diseases . However after consultation with your doctor , you can decrease the dose of gabapentine.
Hope this will help you.
Good luck.
