Hi, my name is tony. I believe I have gout but all the hospital did was give me steroids.. I dont have insurance and after doing research I believe I need to see rheumatogist. I do drink a lot and am not sure if stopping would help. My knee is still swolen, please help.
The symptoms can be related to gout. I suggest to check the uric acid level for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
