Can HIV Be Transmitted Through Transvaginal Ultrasound Probe?

Hello dear doctors. Please advise if HIV could be transmitted via vaginal ultrasound? Condom was not used on the probe, but the probe was cleaned, i saw it myself. And about a half an hour passed between previous patient and me. Thank you very much forbhelp

Hello, Thnx to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice you that usually when doctor insert a probe they apply antiseptics as well as jellys on the probe, so it wont cause infection. Also The time has elapsed between the patients is half an hour, HIV wont survive that much long duration in atmoshphere. So chances of getting HIV infection is very less in your case.
