Can Hyospasmol Be Taken To Stop Diarrhea During Pregnancy?
Hi...I am 32 years with my third pregnancy and I am 35 weeks pregnant and when I was 25 weeks pregnant for this same pregnancy I had stomach cramps, running stomach, strong pains as if I was in Labour..antenatal clinic gave me hyospasmol for my stomach. Now as I am 35 weeks pregnant, I am having dyhorea (running stomach)whole night..can I take these pills to stop it?
Hi Hyospasmol is an antispasmodic given to stop spamodic pains. It may not treat diarrhea but it can help to stop the spasmodic pain that are associated with diarrhea.Diarrhea could be caused by a viral, bacterial or parasitic infection or just food poisoning.Too frequent watery stool can make you dehydrated and this will not be good for you and your baby.I will suggest you get a stool exam/culture to know the exact cause and have an objective management. In the meantime, you may take oral rehydration salt, zinc tablets and bananas to help improve on your stool quality. If the diarrhea persist, you may add imodium which is an anti-diarrheal agent. You may also take hyospasmol to prevent any possible abdominal cramps/spasmodic pains. Hope my answer will help you Wish you a speedy recovery
