Can I Ask A Doctor About My Obstetrical Echo Report ?
my last period was on the 25th feb. so im suposse to be 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant but today i went for an obstetrical echo exam since im lossing sligthly some blood and the re[port came out : PLACENTA: NOT FORMED YET GSTSTIONSL SAC DIAMETER IS .3.....5 WEEKS 2 DAYS COMPOSIT AGE 5 WEEKS 2 DAYS.. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN???? PLZ HELP.

As your last menstrual period was on 25th Feb, the expected date of ovulation was 9th March, presuming your menstrual cycle of 28 days duration. Fertilization of egg can take one day more. Thus, suppose fertilization took place on 10th March. If you calculate from 10th March, age of Fetus on 15th April will be 5 weeks & 2 days. At this fetal age placenta is in the primitive stage. What was the colour of the bleeding/discharge. Pinkish or brown spotting can be placental bleeding, which usually subsides within 2-3 days, but fresh bleeding is not a good sign. Please consult your Gynaecologist.

it might be the cyclical bleeding termed as placental sign which occurs until decidual space is oblitereated by fusion of decidua vera with capsularis{parts of placenta} and is normal upto 12 weeks.it shouldnt be mistaken with threatened abortion..........Are u sure of dates i.e first day of your last menstural period,as it might cause mistakes in calculating period of gestation,as POG calculated via ultrasound in 1st trimester is accurate
