Can I Do Exercises Instead Of Taking Metformin?

I am 79 years old, have pacemaker, take blood pressure pills, and sometimes type II diabetic medicine (metformin). If I continue on a sound diabetic diet (watching the portions and carbs) get plenty of exercise, do I need to take the metformin which disagrees with my system, (uncomfortable stomach, and slight dizziness and weakness in the body? I exercise everyday and am currently working on a sound diet.???

Diabetologist 's  Response
dear sir i can understand your concern.
i am very sorry for your condition.
in my opinion, considering your age and status of pacemaker implantation plenty of exercise is not advisable.
i suggest you to go for milt to moderate exercise and diet control.
there are other options which you can consider like DPP4 inhibitors and SGLT 2 inhibitors.
kindly meet your doc and discuss about this issue.
