Hello,

You can drink alcohol. If you drink alcohol before or after taking emergency contraceptive pills, they will not be less effective. There is no effect of alcohol on the morning after pill.

Alcohol can only indirectly affect contraceptives – e.g. causing you to forget to use them, or putting on a condom incorrectly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
