Iam pregnant, iam now 5th month. I am having fever, colf, cough from past 2 dyas. today i went to doctor, doctor told that i have chest infections that is the reason for my fever, cough. She gave me some tablets which is to be taken after food and asked to take for 5 days. She told that these are antibiotics. I read in magazine that antibiotics should not be taken during pregnency. What should i do. Does the doctor has given the correct tablets
There are certain antibiotics that can be taken in pregnancy. Did you mention to that doctor that you are pregnant? If yes, then the doctor will know better what to prescribe you.

During pregnancy infection also taken care as it may give big problem to fetus.
So we should take care of both.
Medicines should be avoided during firs trimester of pregnancy,but you are having 5 months pregnancy there is no problem taking antibiotic.
Doctor keeping in mind your pregnancy has prescribed antibiotic so nothing to worry.

Hey beware not to take too many tablets during early days of pregnancy. Please consult your doctor for using any tablets except Iron and Folic acid supplements
