Can I Take E-cig Liquid Prior To Total Hysterectomy?
Hello. I am a 41 year old, female. Overall healthy woman. I have upcoming total hysterectomy coming up May 14, 2014. I recently stopped smoking cigarettes but do use an E-cig to curve the cravings. The E-cig does have nicotine in liquid form. I really rely on my E-cig but want to know if it is really pushing it to continue use of it prior to surgery. Thank you for your help.
E-cigarettes that contain nicotine in the cartridge are not much different from cigarettes except that they do not produce smoke, and so, are easier on the lungs. But they otherwise are harmful just like normal cigarettes because the nicotine content. So, if you have been asked not to smoke before your surgery, you should consider this ban to include e-cigarettes as well.
Best wishes.
