hi dr i m farhana from india i hv a question i hv pcos got married 2 years back had miscarriage 4 months back,plz suggest me can i take evion 400mg & can it help me to become pregtnant....currently i m taking metformin 5oomg tid & folic acid 5mg od.....

Hi Farhana,

What is your age and BMI? Do you have regular periods? It is sad that you miscarried four months ago.
Since you had conceived four months ago, it is clear that your fallopian tubes are patent and your husbands semen analysis is acceptable.
Was it a spontaneous pregnancy?
If your BMI is more than 25kg/M2 it is extremely important that you reduce your weight. Do regular exercises. If required, take help from dietician. Reducing even 5-10% of weight improves your chances of conception. it also reduces the risk of miscarriage.
Continue to take Metformin and folic acid. Metformin improves the chances of conception. Evion is anti oxidant. You can take it for 2-3 months. It may help you to get pregnant. But there is no clear evidence.
You need to consult your doctor if you don't conceive in six months time.

To increase your chances of conception maintain normal BMI, quit smoking ( if you're a smoker) and have intercourse at least three times in a week.

evion 400 is vitamin E. it is not ovulation induction drug. metformin 500 and folic acid is necessary in your case.
Many women have PCOS these days. it is not so rare disease. and most of the women with PCOS get pregnant naturally. there are ovulation testing kits available in market. which are urine testing kits once it is positive next 48 hours are very important for fertilization of female egg. keeping relation during that time have highest chances of getting pregnant. have confidence. do not hurry do not get tensed.
