Can I Take Levaquin After Draining Out Pilonidal Cyst?
Hi, I currently have a pilonidal cyst that I have been having drained, checked on and packed with gauze. Everything seems to be going along, slowly albeit. I am taking a strong antibiotic called levaquin and it is causing some diarrheal and vomiting. My question is I smoke marijuana occasionally and specifically for things like feeling sick , which it helps. Will smoking have any effect on my immune system and my body while its fighting infection and trying to heal itself.
Smoking Marijuana or any form of recreational drug should be strictly prohibited as it can cause delayed healing and interfere with the proper functioning of the medicines that are given to you for healing.
As far as diarrhea and vomiting is concerned it is a commonly seen side effect of the antibiotics and can be well managed even without Marijuana.
You can consult your treating surgeon and get evaluated and he/she can advise you to take Pantoprazole in the morning on an empty stomach, Loperaminde to control loose motions and Ondensarton for nausea and vomiting. In case if symptoms are severe the antibiotic can be changed.
