Can I Take Oxycodone Occasionally With The Hydro/acetam?
I recently had knee surgery and was prescribed oxycodone for pain - 10 mg. Now that I have started therapy my doctor gave me a prescription for hydro/acetam 7.5-325 since I really don't like the constipation that accompanies the oxycodone. However, after therapy the hydro/acetam doesn't really relieve the pain enough so I can sleep. Is it okay to take the oxycodone occasionally with the hydro/acetam.?

Both hydrocodone and oxycodone are opioids. If you wish to supplement the hydrocodone-acetaminophen combination with oxycodone, it can be done provided you do so only occasionally and do not exceed the dosage prescribed. Do not take more than one tablet of oxycodone 10 mg per day in addition to the hydrocodone. Please also remember that both hydrocodone and oxycodone can cause constipation.
