Hi, headache, facial pain and bad smell in my nose started just before Christmas. from my previous experience, I thought it was sinusitis and took sudafed.
Facial pain seemed gone but headache and smells keep coming back when i stop taking sudafed.
Feel like some mucus in back of my throart.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
in my opinion this is post nasal discharge due to rhinosinusitis. yes sudafed is indicated. but I would recommend you to take a short course of antibiotics and combination of levocetrizine and pseudoephedrine for better relief. I would also advice my patients with such complaint to do nasal irrigation with saline water. in normal cases you will get relief but if your symptoms doesn't alleviate then I would recommend you to go and get yourself checked up by an ENT specialist nearby, you may need an ct scan nose and pns.
