Can I Use Advil Instead Of Colcrys To Heal Pseudogout In Hand?
I would like to know if it is smart to see a rheumatologist for pseudogout (diagnosed by x-rays) in my primary hand? I have had no improvement after 1 week of prednisone. My PP recommended a medication that will cost me $90 per month--Colcrys, oral! I am in alot of pain and it is effecting my ability to type, write, cook, etc., etc., etc. I am using advil constantly and getting a little relief.

for severe pain you can take advil for short period of time
I think it is wiser to see a rheumatologist as soon as possible to confirm the diagnosis and for the better treatment. There are various medications available like colchicin, prednisolone, NSAIDS, magnisium carbonate and intra-articular injections. You can discuss these drugs with your rheumatologist
