Can I Use Crutches When In Boots With Fibular Ankle Fracture?
I have a fibular ankle fracture. I was put in a boot & told I could put 50% of my weight on it. I am 68 yrs old. I am in the boot for 6 weeks. Do you suggest that i use crutches. i have been using a walker around the house because it is easier. I have been standing on it few times a day without walker or crutches to make meals for my husband & I. Everyone is telling me i will be sorry. Need your advise. Thank you!
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. Fibular fracture is nothing to be worried about, try to under stand about the sentense you can bear upto 50%weight on the leg. The best way is to use a stick,it will be comfortable, and weight bearing as well. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods,to have good health resistance against the infections. Don't bother about what the others say.carry the weights with the other hand, or shoulder to carry. When standing try to stand on the other leg. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. thank you.
