Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic
I would keep a possibility of Icthyosis Vulgaris which is an autosomal dominantly inherited disease.
Lamellar icthyosis is autosomal recessively inherited and is very severe, with thick plate like scales/armour covering most of the body. In Lamellar icthyosis there is a history of
consanguinity.
A number of genetic disorders are amenable to stem cells therapy, which provides the only hope for them.
Icthyosis vulgaris is due to defective fillagrin gene/mutations thereby leading to a defective epidermal barrier. Experimental mice have been studied with this gene defects and replacement of the gene defect restores epidermal barrier. But as far as I know there are no human trials till now, but surely
stem cell therapy is a promising option in future medical science.
I would advice that you use a good moisturizer for her specially, in dry and
cold weather, to keep her skin soft and hydrated. Migrating to a tropical country if possible would be an ideal case scenario, if that is possible.
