Can Invokana Cause Soreness And Tightness In Neck?
I have recently been having tightness in my neck and when talking too much my voice gets very raspy and my neck gets very tight. I had a biopsy of a cyst on the left side of my thyroid, which was benign. Also within the last 6 months have been given the drug Invokana for my diabetes. Could the drug be the cause of this soreness and tightness in my neck?
Invokana contains canagliflozin that is a sodium glucose co transporter 2 inhibitor is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus by controlling blood sugar levels. But like other medications this medication has some side effects of its own. It usually directly doesn't cause muscle pain or joint pain. Other using medications can cause such type of side effects. But it may cause new pain, tenderness, tightness or sores in any part of the body. If you notice such type of side effects during using this medication, then you can inform your doctor. If your prescribing doctor also suspects that Invokana is responsible for your present sufferings, then your doctor can change this medication.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
