Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Was wondering if Lorenzo s oil can help people with MS. My brother-in-law has MS. He is about 49 years old and we are worried about him. He has a family to support and has bad feelings in his arms and legs like a billion ants running around. A doctor is going to try electro impulses on him. We are in Germany. Supposedly that is a new technic to make bad cells healthy again but they can t do it just yet because he just got a mega dose of cortisone . Can you give us any advice including if Lorenzo s oil might help. AAAAAA
The therapeutic effects of Lorenzo's oil has been studied only in certain rare genetic disorders like adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) wherein it might be helpful.
But it efficacy has not been established in MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. There is no scientific literature available which claims that Lorenzo's oil has been found to be helpful in the treatment of MS. The effect is no more than a placebo. Can Lorenzo's Oil Help People With MS ?
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. The therapeutic effects of Lorenzo s oil has been studied only in certain rare genetic disorders like adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) wherein it might be helpful. But it efficacy has not been established in MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS. Acute attacks are effectively treated with corticosteroids and also with Plasmapheresis. Drugs used to slow down the disease process include - Betainterferons, Glatiramer acetate (copaxone), Fingolimod (gilenya), mitoxantrone etc. Hope this information is helpful. Good day
