What Causes Progressive Hearing Loss, aggressiveness And Bad Eye Sight?

Hello, my little step brother is 12 years old, and he has been showing several of the signs of the rare disease known as Adrenoleukodystrophy (or ALD). I have been looking into this quite a bit recently, and I also noticed that he fits the criteria perfectly for Opposition Defiant Disorder (ODD). His symptoms that I noticed for him as far as ALD goes include progressive loss of hearing, unnaturally frequent tantrums, extreme defiance against anyone, slight aggressiveness towards his friends, and he has pretty bad eye sight. He doesn t have any serious symptoms like seizures or limpness on his body or anything like that, but the minor symptoms still show... What do you think?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

As there are no seizures and developmental delay, I feel that he might be most probably having an oppositional defiant disorder only. I suggest that you get him to a good child clinical psychologist and get him evaluated, please.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
