Can Lutera Birth Control Be Taken Immediately After Menstruation?

I just was prescribed Lutera for birth control. It says to start taking it on the first day of your period. Unfortunately, my period started last Friday, and is close to ending now. Should I wait a whole month to start taking them, or should I start them now?

Hello,

Ideally, you have to start taking it on 5th day of your menstruation. If your periods are stopped you can start taking it and stop after 21 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
