Can MRI Of The Brain And Sinuses Be Done Together?

I am in the 4th week of a headache on the left side of my head. It started in the back of my neck and moved to my left temple and eye. For the last 3 weeks I have had double vision. I finally got my insurance to approve an MRI of my brain but not of the sinuses. I really would like to get my sinuses involved in the MRI, too, can they do both at the same time? Also, Should I be worried about brain tumors? The headache isn t the worse I ve ever had and I am still able to function, but I m so very tired of the constant pain. my e-mail is: YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

When we order MRI for brain, usually sinuses are also covered. In your case I will suggest cervical spine X-ray AP and lateral view to rule out cervical strain also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
