I recently had severe vertigo symptoms so I went to my family dr. After a simple test and some questions, he sent me for an open MRI. The MRI came back with an area of shadowing he described as not exactly on the brain but near the area of the sinuses I am now scheduled for a closed MRI. What are the possible causes of this shadowing and do any of them pertain to the sinuses ? I am 37 yrs old. I have lost 40 lbs over 4 months purposely. I weighed 200, I now weigh 160. I m 5 5 and i have always been in perfect health.
This could be most commonly due to sinusitis. If you do scanning at the time of flu or drainage the sinuses can show the presence of discharge.Another possibility is polyps, cysts in sinuses.Wait for report of the same.
