Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is not safe to take Macrobid and Metronidazole drugs together. Taking Metronidazole together with Macrobid may increase the risk of nerve damage, which is a potential side effect of both medicines.

Consult your doctor to prescribe alternative medicines that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medicines. Let your doctor know if you develop weakness, numbness, pain, burning, or tingling in your hands, feet, or in the limbs.

There is no documented harmful interaction between Macrobid, Metronidazole, Rocephin and Z-Pak drugs. Usually, it will take 2 to 3 days for Macrobid to get therapeutic effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
