Can Norfloxacin Be Used To Treat Bacterial Sinus Infection?

Hello, I have an unused bottle of Norfloxacin which I was given by a doctor if I needed antibiotics when on holidays.

I have a bacterial sinus infection but no way of visiting a doctor for about a week. Can Norfloxacin be used to treat a bacterial sinus infection?

Thank you.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of bacterial sinus infection and you cannot go to doctor. As you have Norfloxacin and yes that can be used to treat bacterial sinus infection safely as that is antibacterial. You can take decongestant nasal spray as well. You should maintain oral hygiene. Do warm saline gargles. you should add turmeric to hot milk for further improvement. Use nasal drops and lacrimal massage. You should take steam inhalation as it will give immediate relief. Visit ENT specialist or otolaryngeologist if symptoms keeps on persisting and after proper evaluation start treatment. Avoid cold carbonated bevergaes.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
