Pediatrician, Surgery 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Oesophageal atresia is a correctble condition. once gastrostomy is created, will wait till one year of age before esophageal replacement. It is a major surgery involving extra skill to do it. Child will be alright after recovering from surgery. Post surgery child may take little longer time to recover. Sometimes child may have leak from the anastomosis site which take few weeks to heal.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions . I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing your child good health.
