Can Omeprazole Be Taken While Suffering From Cough?

My 88 year husband has Lewy Bodies. He had a bad cough when he is lying down. Doctor prescribed omerazole 20 mg. He only had it twice in 7 days when needed. Now he shakes more and has urges to urinate several times a day. Should he continue to take it when coughing? Thank you.l

Hi, omrprazole is an antacid. It will not help in relieving cough but it is helpful in acid reflux. He can take it empty stomach. Get his urine checked for routine and microscopy and a culture and also do a blood sugar levels to find out the cause of frequent urination.
