Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can PCNL And Lithotripsy Affect The Menstrual Cycle?
Hi I under went PCNL and a stent has been placed in my left kidney, before this I underwent lithotripsy all this has taken 7 months. Just before I underwent my periods started and have continued post operation also, its been more than 20 days. However during these 7 months I got my periods only twice.
Hello I appreciate your concern Menstrual irregularities are very less likely related to PCNL or lithotripsy.
It might be related to hormonal imbalances or gynaecological condition like perimenopausal stage, endometriosis, stress and anxiety and many other rare causes
Looking at your description I would advise you for battery of tests like hormonal study and ultrasound pelvis for further evaluation.
If it persists any longer than I would advise you to consult a gynaecologist for physical examination and further course of action.
Hope I could answer your question thanks for posting to us, please feel free to ask for further assistance. BEST WISHES
