General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Prednisolone is a steroid preparation which will further increase your blood glucose as it has hyperglycemic action. Hence you need to avoid it's intake as you are diabetic.
Your blood glucose levels should start coming down once the infection subsides. If it continues to be high even after the infection subsides, you need to seek medical attention promptly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.,
