Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Prednisone And Flaxseed Oil Be Taken Together?
I don t want to pay a lot. I have several doctors. The latest has prescribed Metroxate for RA. I DON T like the side effects and don t want to take. Now I read all the vitamins on line. I do have predizone and want to know if it is okay to take flexseed oil with that.
While it is unlikely that there is an issue with you taking Prednisone drug with flaxseed oil, I think it is unadvisable for you to try this out based on internet advice.
Steroids (Prednisone) have innumerable side effects of their own and must be taken under careful titration by your doctor.
I advise you to discuss your issues with the side effects of Methotrexate that you are experiencing and move forward with alternate medications or dosages as advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
